MEADOW, Millard County — Three people are dead following a crash on I-15 Saturday morning 15 miles south of Meadow.

Three occupants in a Ford Ranger were traveling north when the driver continued straight as the road curved, according to officials from the Utah Highway Patrol. The driver, Candice Marie Young, 48, of Las Vegas, drove back onto the road and crossed all of the lanes, then "steered sharply" in the opposite direction, which caused the vehicle to roll over, officials said.

Officials say the driver's daughter, Angelina Smith, 13, was ejected from the truck. Young and the front passenger, Celeste Drennan, 46, of Bountiful, were both wearing their seatbelts; however, Young was found partially ejected from the truck. Officials did not immediately release additional information about the crash.

UHP confirmed all three subjects died from injuries suffered in the crash.

Drennan's sister, Rebecca, said they were looking forward to spending Christmas together in El Paso, and Celeste "loved to do for others." She also said that Celeste moved to Utah a few years ago and had a "very strong faith."

Celeste enjoyed making quilts, going to singles ward activities and cooking for friends, according to her sister.

"I just want to send out my condolences to the other family," Rebecca said.

Smith was a student at Johnston Middle School in North Las Vegas and was spending Thanksgiving in Utah with her mother, according to the GoFundMe set up to cover funeral costs.

"Although it is God's will we struggle to understand why even though it is not meant for us to know why," read the GoFundMe. "Our entire family is devastated."

"She was a friendly, smart and outgoing child who enjoyed spending time with friends and playing the saxophone," said Heather Smith, Angelina's aunt. "As heavy as our hearts are an angel got her wings."
